Activities

Activities and clubs play an integral role in a student's educational experience. These opportunities contribute positively to increased school pride, the overall school climate, and individual student growth. Learn how you can become involved in Crestview school activities.

Activities are held weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:40 p.m. – 3:40 p.m. Activity forms are open for sign-ups the Friday before the activity through 9:45 a.m. the morning of the activity. Students will need to indicate their transportation needs in this form as well. Bus transportation is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. All students who are involved in these activities must be off campus by 4:00 p.m.

Bus Transportation

Transportation is available every day that we host after-school activities. We have two buses for our community, one for students who reside in St. Louis City, and another for students who reside in St. Louis County. The St. Louis City bus departs CMS at approximately 3:45 p.m. while the County bus departs CMS at approximately 4:30 p.m. Students must sign up to take the bus when they are signing up for after-school activities via the Google Forms posted on their Grade Level Canvas Pages. If a student is not riding the bus, they may either walk or be picked up in a car.

After School Car Pick Up Procedures

We expect a higher volume of students attending after-school activities this school year. Therefore, please help us ensure orderly traffic in our upper lot by following these procedures. Supervised after-school activity pick up takes place in our main parking lot off of Valley Road. If you are picking up for after-school activities, you may enter off of either Clayton Road or Valley Road, then proceed to the front of school. Please remain in line and do not park in the parking spots to wait for your student. Pull all the way forward and utilize the entire inside lane closest to the building. We will focus on rolling cars off the lot as quickly as possible and do not want to delay traffic by sending students across the crosswalk to meet their ride in parking spots. Please do your best to arrive promptly so that we can begin moving cars off the lot at 3:40 p.m. All students must be picked up by 4:00 p.m.

Both of these documents are live and completely up to date for the 23-24 school year. If any information changes, these documents will immediately be updated to reflect that change. The CMS website will be updated to reflect this information within the next week. Some activities require auditions or applications. Be sure to review the information on these documents fully so that you can ensure your student has completed all the necessary steps for the club they are interested in attending. If a club requires an audition or application, it is noted on these documents.

Helping Your Student Sign Up for Activities

This school year, after school activity sign-up forms will be posted on your student's Grade Level Canvas page every Friday at 3:30 p.m. The forms remain open over the weekend until the morning of the activity at 9:45 a.m. At 9:45 a.m. the form for that day's activities will close and will no longer accept submissions. Each week, the forms reset. Therefore, students must sign up weekly for every activity they want to attend for the next week. This helps us maintain orderly attendance records as to what activity students are attending. If a student does not sign up on the activity form by 9:45 a.m., they are not allowed to stay for activities that day. If a student stays for activities without signing up repeatedly, they may be disallowed from attending after-school activities in the future. Students must indicate on the sign-up form whether or not they need to take bus transportation or not.
